Breaking news has hit the Overwatch universe. On Friday, Blizzard announced via Twitter that a (fictional) attack was unfolding in the Numbani International Airport, where young inventor Efi Oladele, was due to board her first airplane.

It seems that an as-yet unnamed and unknown big baddie–or perhaps just one of the thousands of generic PvP matches that unfold daily on Numbani’s streets–have laid waste to the city’s airport, destroying countless OR15 Defense Bots in the process.
OR15s, eh? Have we heard that before?

We know that Efi has an intimate familiarity with the latest model of Defense Drone. We also know that Efi was in the thick of the airport attack–check out the media credit that Blizzard attached to the Atlas News screenshot.
What’s a genius inventor to do when faced with carnage and surrounded by scrapped robots? Personally, I’d assemble a badass Frankenbot and do battle with any ne’er-do-well this side of the control point.
Predictions
If I had to guess, I’d say the next hero to come to the Overwatch universe will most likely look a lot like a pile of crudely welded together robots, similar to those pictured in Blizzard’s tweet. This wouldn’t necessarily rule out any previously discussed spiderlike resemblances, nor does it rule out my previous theory about a Russian connection. Maybe we’ll see Zarya drop in to protect Volskaya assets.
The one thing that seems certain is that we’re going to see a new cinematic introducing this character soon. Any conflict between good and evil on this map is sure to involve the Doomfist gauntlet. Judging by the damage featured above, it’s entirely possible the gauntlet is already in the wrong hands. We also know that Lucio has a concert booked in Numbani. Perhaps the Brazilian DJ will be deploying his trademark military-grade dank beats for the purposes of thwarting evil.

We’re sure to get a brand new tank in the hero roster, but if the Doomfist gauntlet is successfully stolen, how will that affect the Numbani payload? We know there’s a hidden model in game, but wouldn’t it be a little immersion breaking if players are suddenly tasked with pushing an empty payload around?
