Overwatch hasn’t been out long but Blizzard has already announced their first new hero release: Ana Amari, an original member of the Overwatch team and Pharah’s mother. Sporting a long-ranged Biotic rifle that can heal allies and or inflict “ongoing damage” to enemies, she’s going to provide support players with an exciting new way to play. Having grown up on the dusty streets of Egyptian cities, Ana has honed her skills over the past few decades and brings a strong tactical edge to her skill set. Let’s check out what this talented sniper can add to your line-up.
Ana’s Abilities
Biotic Rifle
6 ammunition
1 rounds per sec
80 damage
75 HP per hit heal
Ana’s rifle shoots darts that can restore health to her allies or deal ongoing damage to her enemies. She can use the rifle’s scope to zoom in on targets and make highly accurate shots.
Sleep Dart
12 sec cd
Ana fires a dart from her sidearm, rendering an enemy unconscious for 6 seconds (though any damage will rouse them).
Biotic Grenade
60 damage
100 HP per hit heal
10 sec cd
Ana tosses a biotic bomb that deals damage to enemies and heals allies in a small area of effect. Affected allies briefly receive increased healing from all sources, while enemies caught in the blast cannot be healed for a few moments.
Ultimate Ability: Nano Boost
8 sec duration
After Ana hits one of her allies with a combat boost, they temporarily move faster, deal more damage, and take less damage from enemies’ attacks.

Analysis
Ana’s play-style revolves around her ability to happily fire away from distance, healing her team up whilst damaging enemies. The Biotic Grenade combos perfectly with this, allowing her to turn the tide of a skirmish in a flash, but it can also be used simply to bump up her hp pool if Ana takes some substantial damage from a well placed shot. Sleep Dart provides another escape mechanism for her against those pesky Tracers, but can also be used to set-up easy kills for her team by isolating enemy heroes caught out of position. Because Ana is constantly firing away her ultimate fills up fast so you can use it frequently to transform a team mate into a absolute monster – keep healing them up and watch things get messy. Another tip also worth remembering is that the Biotic Grenade temporarily disables enemy healing – use it to frustrate those enemy Mercys and Lucios.
