Top 5 Supports in League of Legends – Patch 5.13

5. Blitzcrank

Coming in at number five is Blitzcrank. Blitzcrank has always been one of the better supports, other than his pull which can guarantee 2v2s or change a team fight, he has other useful abilities that make him such an awesome support. Blitzcrank has great mobility with his “w” and boots, Blitzcrank is fast to get to lane, which can help keep pressure off his tower or force enemy vision if roaming. Blitzcrank is a tanky support, and other than his slight mana issues, is very fun to play. Blitzcrank is great for all skill levels.

4. Alistar

Alistar is one of the best mid game supports. Due to his ultimate, heals, and sustain, he is able to tower dive as early as level 6. Alistar has great initiations and has very good peeling. Although he is not an easy support to learn, he can be very over powered if learned to play properly. Alistar is a good support for level 30 or over.

3. Thresh

Thresh is one of the best supports in patch 5.13. Thresh has a strong laning phase as he is able to bring decent damage, initiations, and is able to lantern his AD Carry out of bad situations. Thresh has good crowd control and has the most utility in the game as far as supports go. A good Thresh player is hard to find as Thresh isn’t the easiest champion to learn, if you practice enough nobody will be able to shut your lane down.

2. Nautilus

Nautilus is a tanky bot lane support that has a lot of cc, great base damage, low cooldowns, and great scaling. Nautilus has great initiation since his ultimate (knockup) locks on to the enemy. Nautilus is fairly easy to play.

1. Leona

Coming in at number one is Leona. Leona is great in the early and late game. She has hard engages that almost guarantee kills and has high burst damage for a support. Leona excels at team fights and is a naturally tanky support. Leona has no escapes, but with her abilities, you won’t be needing to back down. Leona isn’t too hard but isn’t too easy, so she will take some practice.
