Sylvanas Windrunner has been a staple legendary of Hearthstone since its initial release. The card is extremely strong, and can be a perfect answer to many boards. At worst it draws out removal nearly every time. The card is slow, so it works better in control decks. Sylvanas was falling out of favour, and only played by extreme control decks. However, with the launch of standard, Sylvanas moved up in the tier list. Not only were other cards gone, but silence got a big nerf, making Sylvanas much stronger.

Sylvanas also works extremely well with N’Zoth, for obvious reasons. She showed up in six of the decks we analyzed, three of which were decks including N’Zoth. She also works incredibly well with Barnes, who has also become very popular.

Stephen has a degree in English from Brock University. He grew up playing video games and card games, always having an affection for strategy. He picked up League of Legends in early Season One and has since achieved Diamond rank multiple times. He also picked up Hearthstone in Beta and has since achieved Legend consistently. When he isn’t reading, writing, or gaming, he’s probably watching other people game.
